Prelude: “Summer Mood”
Call to Worship
Come; walk with God in these moments of worship. Celebrate God’s covenant with us and God’s daily care.
Surely God is in this place. For we fin refuge and strength as we gather.
Be still and know that God is God. All our names for God are limited, for God is greatly to be praised.
The Most High lives in us and among us. The whole creation is God’s dwelling place.
All people on earth are God’s concern. Those who do the will of God experience God’s rule.
We have come to hear what God would have us do. We seek the courage to do what God intends.
Hymn #384 “This is My Father’s World”
Call to Prayer
We gather to celebrate Father’s Day, and to recognize that our homes are the dwelling place for your love. Father: it is the name, O God, which Jesus taught his followers to call you. It breathes a sense of care, of personal recognition, of relationship. It reminds us of your tender interest in everything about us-our health, our happiness, our behavior, our fulfillment as persons. Let us thank God, for this revelation about our Creator, and thank God for the way it honors our earthly fathers as well. Let us pray responsively.
Prayer of Confession
It is very special, O God, for us to be able to call you “Father.”
Somehow it makes God seem closer and more intimately involved in our lives.
We pray that we may live in daily appreciation of your closeness an involvement.
Teach us to remember that we are never alone, because you are always with us and ready to help us.
Remind us of your presence in such a way that we feel stronger an better to deal with the tasks of our daily existence.
Help us to live with the confidence of those who know that their Father is always there to guide and protect them.
Grant that it may make us more thoughtful of others, an ready to share your love and blessings with them.
For your fatherly love is without measure and there is more than enough for all people in the world. Amen.
Words of Assurance
We are created in the image of God and are blessed with the capacity to reflect God’s will in our lives. God care for us and invests us with responsibility. God honors us with high expectations to seek out life’s best for our families. We are loved. We are forgiven. Hear the good news. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Amen.

ORDINATION AND INSTALLATION OF CHURCH OFFICERS
Sunday, January 10, 2016
Each year, our congregation elects those whom God has gifted for specialized ministry as Elders and Deacons. Ordination is done only once per office, and installation is done each time a member begins a leadership term. We celebrate this Call of God during the Worship of All God's People.
